Q: Why and when should I use a Low Volume Liner?
A: Our new LVL liners were developed as a direct request from our customers. They should be used primarily for short runs and when unique/custom colors need to be matched. They also save money when using very expensive specialty inks, such as metallics or florescents. Now, with the new LVL liners you can run print jobs with ounces instead of gallons of ink!
Q: How long can paper liners be run before they
need to be changed?
A: Some operators say they run for 2-3 days or up to 7
shifts. Others change after each 8 hour shift. Some use for 1 to 5
jobs. Some claim the liner gets soggy after about 48-60 hours.
Sometimes the ink used will cause some variance.
Q: How long can C2000 wipers be run without
changing?
A: Generally they will perform for 24-48 hours
depending on the speed at which the press is running and the type of
ink. In some cases they can be run for over 72 hours.
Q: Can "MEK" or strong solvent type inks be used
in your paper liners?
A: Our paper liners hold up well for most types of
ink. It is recommended that for inks with MEK and other caustic
solutions which may cause deterioration of liners, "sonic sealed
spouts" should be used. DIP's regular drain spouts made of
polystyrene hold up well for most inks. If UV or other inks cause
the area in which the spout is located to leak, we recommend
switching to liners with sonic sealed spouts made of
polypropylene. |
